Terms of Service
Last updated: 5 May 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the PDF Scanner mobile application (the "App"). By installing or using the App you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App.
1. License
PDF Scanner grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your personal or internal business use. You may not redistribute, sublicense, sell, lease, reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the App or any part of it, except where such restriction is prohibited by applicable law.
2. Your content
Documents you scan, photos you import, and any text, signatures, stamps, watermarks, or annotations you create with the App are your content. You retain all rights to your content. The App stores this content locally on your device and does not transmit it to PDF Scanner's servers.
You are solely responsible for the legality of the content you scan and process — including obtaining any consents or rights required to scan documents that contain other people's personal information, copyrighted material, or confidential information.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the App:
- For any unlawful purpose, including the production of forged identity documents, counterfeit currency, or other documents used to commit fraud
- To infringe any intellectual property right, privacy right, or other right of any person
- To circumvent any security feature of the App or attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system associated with the App
- In a manner that interferes with another user's enjoyment of the App
4. Updates
The App may update automatically through the Google Play Store. Updates may add, change, or remove features. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the updated App.
5. Third-party services
The App relies on Google Play Services, Google ML Kit (for on-device OCR and barcode scanning), and the device's camera and storage subsystems. Use of those services is also governed by the respective providers' terms.
For optional crash reporting and performance monitoring, the App uses Google Firebase. See our Privacy Policy for details.
6. Disclaimer of warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED.
Document edge detection, OCR, signature recognition, filters, and AI-based image enhancement are best-effort features. Results vary with lighting, document type, and device hardware. PDF Scanner does not warrant that any particular scan, OCR result, or filtered image will be accurate, complete, or fit for any specific purpose.
7. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PDF SCANNER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, REVENUE, OR PROFITS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE APP, EVEN IF PDF SCANNER HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
Because the App stores your content locally on your device, PDF Scanner is not responsible for data loss caused by device failure, factory reset, accidental deletion, OS upgrades, or uninstallation of the App. Back up important documents to your gallery, cloud storage, or another destination of your choosing.
8. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. PDF Scanner may suspend or terminate your access to App-related services if you violate these Terms or if continued availability becomes commercially or legally impractical.
9. Changes to these Terms
PDF Scanner may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be communicated in-app where reasonable. Continued use of the App after the effective date of an update constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which PDF Scanner is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence applies, those rights are not displaced by this clause.
